In Scripture, praise to God is often expressed using stringed instruments such as the psaltery, lyre, or harp. Each string has its own sound, but together they create one melody.
According to Bartolo Longo’s prayer to Our Lady of Pompeii, the Rosary is the “sweet chain that unites us to God”. This is the eighth string, the sweet melody that makes us intercessors to the heart of God, through the heart of Mary.
